Idle Time – 1932 Resort sweater

January 19, 2010

This is a great pattern from a Fleisher knitting/crochet book from 1932.

I collect these books from a fantastic website, called Iva Rose Vintage Reproductions. They are great to work from, once you convert the old and sometime confusing needle sized (us, european, brand specific) to the modern standards.

FiberGypsy.com has a great and lengthy chart to help you find the right, modern needles for an old pattern. I still highly recommend doing a gauge test before starting a project. it’ll make all the difference.

Knit in an undyed wool/silk blend from Wool2Dye4. It hangs and shines beautifully.

Then I hand dyed it (and my hands) Mauve in my bathtub.
